Welcome to Jonathan Latimer, Wildlife Artist

Jonathan has been obsessed with wildlife from an early age. Graduating in 1998 from Blackpool & The Fylde College of Art with a First-Class Degree in Design, specialising in Scientific & Natural History Illustration, Jonathan was awarded course student of the year. Initially working for several years as a wildlife illustrator, Jonathan worked for many organisations including National Geographic, Harper Collins and the BBC. In 2005 his first solo book was published by Langford Press as part of their Wildlife Art Series (WAS), ‘Orchards Through the Eyes of an Artist’.

Jonathan’s work now primarily consists of more ‘fine art’ paintings inspired by personal encounters of wildlife in the British Isles. Still undertaking commissioned work, Jonathan has recently illustrated the 2017 UK Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp, featuring Wigeon on the Dornoch Firth. His work hangs in public and private collections around the world.

Most of the paintings have been inspired by first hand observation of species in the wild.
