Treecreepers are common and widespread woodland birds, most readily located by their distinctive call, a high-pitched ‘tsee-tsee-tsee’, which is delivered as they shuffle mouse-like along a branch or around the trunk of a tree. Treecreepers have stiff tail feathers, like woodpeckers, to support them as they climb, probing within the bark for insects with their finely curved bill.
